Polish Mourns After Their President Died in a Plane Crash
After a plane crash has killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski, including his wife and top government and military officials, the country observed a two-minute silence on Sunday which was marked by sounds of sirens.
Tens of thousands of people went to the streets of Warsaw and other cities to pay respect to the late President. According to reports, the plane crashed near the Russian city of Smolensk, killing 98 passengers, including high-ranking officials of Poland.
Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has ordered an investigation to determine the real cause of the accident. The initial investigation showed that Polish pilots ignored the air traffic control warnings telling their plane was flying too low.
