Samoa Killer Tsunami

Samoa is under the state of calamity after a strong undersea earthquake on Wednesday triggered a tsunami and swept the island.  According to media reports, more than a hundred people were found dead.

However, authorities believe that the numbers will rise as rescuers found more bodies from the debris and shoreline.

In statement, Samoan officials called for help as survivors suffer from lack of food, clean water, medicine, and other basic necessities.

Officials also said they need more doctors, surgeons, and nurses to treat the survivors who mostly sustained cuts and broken bones.

Meanwhile, the stench of decaying bodies began to alarm officials since this may result to diseases and epidemics.

While the tsunami in Samoa is big, it wouldn’t rival to the 2004 Indian tsunami which killed more than 20,300 people from different countries including Indonesia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Somalia.
