Obama Calls Kanye West Jackass

This video shows US President Barack Obama commenting on rapper Kanye West’s infamous ranting during the Music Video Awards where he grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift while she was saying her speech as the winner for best female pop video.

Before a formal interview began, a host asked Obama about Kanye West and the motive behind his outburst during the award ceremony.

Obama quipped that West is a jackass for what he had done. After saying this, all the people from the room laughed.  However, the President realized that he may have gone overboard and said that his opinion was off the record.

However, some employees from ABC Network tweeted Obama’s comment which immediately reached millions of Americans.

Meanwhile, there is now a debate over journalism ethics especially when conducting an interview.  Some journalists believe that if a formal interview is not yet starting, all the statement should be considered off the record.
