Jon Bon Jovi, Joan Baez Record Music Vid for Neda
World renowned musicians, including glam rock artist Jon Bon Jovi, paid tribute to Neda Soltani, an Iranian woman shot by a sniper during a protest rally, by recording a viral music video of a song written in Farsi for the citizens of Iran.
Producers of the music video said that they do not intend to sell or break records with the Ben E. King classic.
“We want the people of Iran and the world to download the song and remind them of the sacrifice Neda has made for her people,” said American record producers John Shanks and Don Was.
Handwritten in Farsi (the most widely spoken Persian language), the song shared the same sentiments with all the people Iran and of the world to stand united. Producers also said that a Farsi sign can be seen in the video, which translates to “we are one”.
Iranian superstar Andy Madadian recently went to Los Angeles to record the song with Richie Sambora, Bon Jovi.
