Cheerleader Disabled After Taking Flu Shot
A seasonal flu shot changed the life of Desiree Jennings, 26, after her body over-reacted to the chemical and is now suffering from uncontrollable spasm and seizure that makes it difficult for her to speak, walk, and perform life’s basic activities.
Jennings, who was a cheerleader and marathon runner, said the doctors diagnosed her with a rare neurological disorder called distonia that has still no known cure to this date.
According to previous reports, she got a flu shot at a local grocery store in Virginia; 10 days later she was hospitalized after passing out twice and her body started to move uncontrollably.
Jennings’s symptoms are rare; she trembles every time she walks and speaks but appears to be normal when she is walking backwards or running fast.
